Blackout Poetry


"Rules. A word for failure. Grade school consisted of taking recess, do sit ups on the cold gym floor. Then came high school, punishment for all. Listen up, NOW! Nowhere in 'the rules' were there any directions on how to play."

"The kid described him too tall for his weight. He realized his body was not too light for now, anyway. For a while he thought certainly he was. By age twelve, the kid knew he would be a pro athlete."

"Over and over  she always responded with a small nod. She always seemed to be the one that hid from the spotlight. She was always one away"

"In 1937, Tim was amazed, Tim said, I will learn to walk again'"
