I believe the message in this visual is that some people get into such a 9 to 5 routine that they become almost robotic in a way. They wake up, go to work, do their job, then go home. Every step is memorized, there are no surprises. Your brain becomes wired into this routine that you can't get out of.
Your view on this is pretty interesting, but I have to disagree. Some people enjoy their 9 to 5 life and like routine. This doesn't mean they're robots, they think for themselves just prefer a specific routine.
